United States Army - Vietnam Veteran - E-5 Martin Shores, Janesville, CA

The Patriot Guard Riders having been invited by the family of fallen United States Army - Vietnam Veteran - E-5 Martin Shores, to stand and honor during his Interment Service at the Janesville Cemetery, Janesville, CA.. The mission involved a flag line at the Janesville Cemetery, Janesville, CA for family and friends to pass through. On a beautiful winter day, 10 PGR members - 2 cages and 7 motors, showed to present Honors to E-5 Martin Shores and his family at his final resting.

I would like to give a special thanks to Reno Nevada PGR member Tom who rode his motor from Minden, NV, and NV Assist State Captain Dean Shuff and Ride Captain Bill Drummond along with Ride Captain Skip Kelly and his wife Terri who drove down from Alturas to assist the Susanville PGR stand Honor Line with American Flags during this Mission.

In addition to our Patriot Guard Riders we had a great representation of many groups on this Mission. They include :

American Legion
VFW
US Army Team 6 Honor Guard

Lastly, but not the least, I am thankful to E-5 Martin Shores, US Army Veteran, an American Hero and his family. Your watch has been stood, your duty to protect this nation is complete, and you’ve earned the right to be called a true American Hero. Your service and sacrifice will not be forgotten.

E-5 Martin Shores entered the US Army on 13 Dec 1967 and entered training as a 52C20 Power Pack Operator. E-5 Martin Shores discharged from the US Army on 30 Jul 1969.

E-5 Martin Shores was awarded the following decorations during his time in the US Army and his tour in Vietnam : Vietnam Service Medal – Vietnam Campaign Medal – Good Conduct Medal – National Defense Medal.

E-5 Martin Shores was a proud US Army Vietnam Veteran. Because of his love of life, his sense of humor and his love for his family, he will be missed by many. Please bring your flags for the flag line to render honors to a True American Hero.

Services began at 1400hrs, at the Janesville Cemetery, off of Main Street and Cemetery Lane (directly across the street from the intersection of Christie and Main Street) in Janesville, CA 96114.

Rest in Peace, Martin... Your Mission is complete...
