PGR Welcome Home - 2 Airport Greeting's - Reno, NV Airport
The Truckee Meadows NV#3 Blue Star Mothers, American Legion Post 1 members and Patriot Guard Riders welcomed home from their 1 year long Deployment in Afghanistan, the members of the Nevada Army National Guard, #168th G.S.A.B. Aviation Unit. Included in these are Susanville residents – Sgt Matt Clairborne and Patriot Guard Member Kalvin McFarland.
We had two welcome home greetings for 35 Nevada Army National Guard troops returning from a 1 year deployment to Afghanistan.
The 13 members on the 10:25 a.m. arrival were met by a huge turnout of friends and family along with 20 PGR members, the Vietnam Veterans of America, Blue Star Moms, American Legion Riders, VFW Riders, Corvina Base Submariners, as well as Glenna Smith, from Senator Heller's office, and numerous TV and Newspaper reporters. The troops were greeted by signs, cheers, tears, hugs and many waving flags and handshakes. It was a great turnout by the community and was well received by the troops.
The 22 members on the 9:25 p.m. arrival were also met by a large group of family, friends and well wishers and the most of the same groups that met the morning flight. Thanks to all those that turned out to welcome these fine soldiers home.
