The escort went well, including TV and print coverage from the starting point in Fallon. We returned to Fallon for the dedication by Glenna Smith from Senator Dean Heller's office and Fallon Mayor Ken Tedford, as we stood a flag line during the ceremony. Our escort will depart Silver Springs, NV Tuesday morning, March 18 at 8:30 AM with Carson City as the destination. Roger Elliott, Central Ride Captain Patriot Guard Riders Tuesday, March 18, 2014 This morning, four PGR, two local, one Truckee, CA and one Susanville, CA departed Reno and joined one member from Minden, NV to stand a flag line in Carson City. We met USMC veteran Rob Jones as he arrived from Silver Springs, NV on this segment of his bicycle trip across the US. Rob was escorted by the Lyon County Sheriff's department and eight PGR escorts from Reno, Fallon, Dayton and Silver Springs. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 Rob Jones will be leaving the shopping center parking lot, across US 50 from the Gold Dust West casino to head for the last state on his mission, California. Rob's escort to the California state line will be Carson City Sheriff's department and PGR. The group will stop at the Nevada Capitol Grounds for a short presentation and then off to highway 88 and the Sierra Nevada range. Anyone departing Reno wishing to ride in a group, plan on departing the closed Chevron station located at the corners of Longley Lane, Huffaker Lane and South Virginia Street.
