US Army Korean War Veteran Pvt 2 Robert G. Nighswonger - Susanville, CA
The Patriot Guard Riders having been invited by the family of fallen US Army – Korean War Veteran Pvt 2 Robert G. Nighswonger, to stand and honor during his Memorial Service at the Masonic Lodge in Susanville, CA.. The mission involved a flag line at the Masonic Lodge in Susanville, CA. for family and friends to pass through. On a beautiful, winter day, 20 PGR members showed to present Honors for this true American Hero, where the PGR stood Honor Line at his Memorial Service.
Pvt 2 Robert G. Nighswonger served our Nation proudly from Jan 1953 to Dec 1954. After serving in the US Army, Pvt 2 Robert G. Nighswonger went to work at the California Department of Corrections as a Vocational Instructor until his retirement.
I would like to give a special thanks to Reno Nevada PGR members Dave Kealey and his five other members who traveled to assist the Susanville PGR stand Honor Line with American Fags during this Mission. In addition to our Patriot Guard Riders we had a great representation of many groups on this Mission.
They include:
U. S. Army Honor Guard
Patriot Guard Riders
American Legion
Marine Corps League
Lastly, but not the least, I am thankful to Pvt 2 Robert G. Nighswonger, US Army Veteran, an American Hero, and his family. Your watch has been stood, your duty to protect this nation is complete, and you’ve earned the right to be called a true American Hero. Your service and sacrifice will not be forgotten.
Rest in Peace, your Mission is complete.
Respectfully,
RC - Rick "Taildragger" Schultz
