The Patriot Guard Riders having been invited by the family of fallen US Navy Veteran, AE3 Sammy A. Hoy, to stand and honor during his Interment service at the Diamond Crest Cemetery, Susanville, CA. 96130. Fireman 1C Duane T. Headley served his country proudly from 04 Nov 1944 to 06 Apr 1946.
Fireman 1C Duane T. Headley entered the US Navy at the end of WWII and served as an Fireman 1Class until his separation in April 1946. Fireman 1C Duane T. Headley served aboard the USS Abatan in the Asiatic and Pacific Fleet. The USS Abatan was a Pasig-class distilling ship built for the United States Navy during World War II, serving Fleet ships with fresh water. Fireman 1C Duane T. Headley was a proud US Navy veteran. Because of his love of life, his sense of humor and his love for his family, he will be missed by many.
INTERNMENT began at approximately 1100hrs, at the Diamond Crest Cemetery, off of Law Drive and Diamond Crest Road, Susanville, CA .
