LTJG James L. Uptegrove ,US Navy - WWII Veteran, Susanville, CA
The Patriot Guard Riders having been invited by the family of fallen US Navy - World War II Veteran, LTJG James L. Uptegrove, to stand and honor during his Interment service at the Diamond Crest Cemetery, Susanville, CA. LTJG James L. Uptegrove served his country proudly from 1942 to 1946.
LTJG James L. Uptegrove entered the US Navy as an enlisted Sonar man in 1942 then enrolled in the Navy’s V-12 Program where the Navy sent personnel to accredited Colleges and University’s to become Officers due to the shortage of Officer’s during the war. LTJG James L. Uptegrove graduated from Georgia Tech majoring in Civil Engineering.
LTJG James L. Uptegrove left the US Navy and settled in Lassen County working as a Civil Engineer until his retirement.
LTJG James L. Uptegrove was a proud US Navy veteran. Because of his love of life, his sense of humor and his love for his family, he will be missed by many.
