ESCORT - Global War On Terror (GWOT) Traveling Wall - Herlong, CA to Susanville, CA
Patriot Guard Riders having been invited by the Victory2Vistion project and Brittany Sanchez to escort the Global War on Terror Remembrance Wall from the Mark at Herlong, CA into the City of Susanville then set up at the Lassen County Fairgrounds.
Once at the Mark, everyone was greeted by two Fire Ladder Trucks from the City of Susanville and Sierra Army Depot Fire Dept flying a large American Flag. Standing by there also was Engines from Susan River, Janesville, Herlong, CalFire, Fire Departments and EMS from Herlong. The California Highway Patrol and Lassen County Sheriff Dept escorted all of us from Herlong to Susanville. Upon entering the City of Susanville, Susanville City PD assisted with the escort through town and back to the fairgrounds. We had approximately 50 motorcycles as part of the escort of this Remembrance Wall. Along the route, both outside of town and in town, citizens lined up with Flags showing their support.
The Wall of Remembrance is a Victory2Vistion project and was inspired by a wish by active duty military for a memorial, the cowardly acts of terrorists pm 9/11/2001 and Vietnam Veterans. It was designed built and funded by United States Marine David Brown and Vision2Victory Founder Richard (JR) Nichols in 2011 to commemorate the 10 year remembrance of 9/11.
