Seaman E3 Jimmie J. Chappell - US Navy Korean War Era Veteran Susanville, CA
The Patriot Guard Riders having been invited by the family of fallen US Navy Veteran, Seaman E- 3 Jimmie J. Chappell, to stand and honor during his Interment Service at the Diamond Crest Cemetery, Susanville, CA. Seaman E- 3 Jimmie J. Chappell served his country proudly from 9 Jan 1951 to 16 Nov 1954.
Seaman E- 3 Jimmie J. Chappell entered the US Navy and served aboard the USS Benham - DD796, a Fletcher Class Destroyer. Seaman E- 3 Jimmie J. Chappell served off the east coast of the US and off the coast of Europe, porting in over twenty different countries. Seaman E- 3 Jimmie J. Chappell received the following medals and Awards: Navy Occupation Service Medal (European Clasp) - National Defense Service Medal.
Upon his Honorable discharge from the US Navy, Seaman E- 3 Jimmie J. Chappell returned home to Lassen County where he went to work at the Sierra Army Depot, retiring as an Ammunition Inspector Supervisor with 40 years of service.
Seaman E- 3 Jimmie J. Chappell was a proud US Navy Veteran. Because of his love of life, his sense of humor and his love for his family, he will be missed by many.
Interment Services:
began at approximately 1100hrs, at the Diamond Crest Cemetery, off of Law Drive and Diamond Crest Road, Susanville, CA .
