US Army - World War II Veteran, Tech 5 Joseph S. Avilla Jr. - Susanville, CA
The Patriot Guard Riders having been invited by the family of fallen US Army - World War II Veteran, Tech 5 Joseph S. Avilla Jr., to stand and honor during his interment service at the Diamond Crest Cemetery, Susanville, CA. Tech 5 Joseph S. Avilla Jr. served his country proudly from 19 Mar 1945 to 21 Nov 1946.
Tech 5 Joseph S. Avilla Jr. served during World War II as a light truck driver and participated in several campaigns in the South Pacific Theater. Tech 5 Joseph S. Avilla Jr. was decorated with the following Decorations and Citations – Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal – Army Occupation Medal (Japan) - Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Tech 5 Joseph S. Avilla Jr. was a proud US Army veteran. Because of his love of life, his sense of humor and his love for his family, he will be missed by many.
