SFC William David Kirby, US Army, Korea War Veteran - Westwood, CA
The family invited the PGR to provide honors during an Interment Service for U.S. Army -SFC William David Kirby, US Army, Korea War Veteran at the Westwood Cemetery in Westwood, CA. The mission involved a flag line at Westwood Cemetery in Westwood, CA. for family and friends to pass through. On a wonderful warm, summer day, 12 PGR motors and 1 “cage” showed to present Honors for this true American Hero where the PGR stood Honor line at his final resting.
SFC William David Kirby, US Army, Korea War Veteran passed away on July 21st, 2010. SFC William David Kirby, US Army, Korea War Veteran enlisted in the US Army on 13 Sept 1952 and was discharged on 12 Sept 1954. SFC William David Kirby was a combat medic and saw action in the Korean War, participating in numerous campaigns Korea. SFC William David Kirby was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart for injuries sustained during a motor attack on his unit, and the Korean Service Medal with Star for his meritorious actions during the war. Upon his discharge from the US Army, SFC William David Kirby, returned to the Westwood area where he worked for Collins Pine Lumber company until his retirement. He will be deeply missed by many.
I would like to especially thank PGR members Bill Carbaugh and Gary Wright, who rode up from Sacramento, CA to honor this true American Hero. I would also like to thank Blake Hutchinson, our newest PGR member on his first Mission. In addition to our Patriot Guard Riders we had a great representation of many groups on this Mission. They include:

American Legion
Marine Corps League
Lastly, but not the least, I am thankful to SFC William David Kirby, US Army, Korea War Veteran, an American Hero, and his family. Please know your sacrifice was not in vain, and we will not forget what you’ve done for our Nation.
Rest in Peace, your Mission is complete.
