Interment Service - Donald Kurts - US Marine Corp - Susanville, CA
Upon his Honorable discharge from the US Marine Corp, Donald Kurts returned home in 1954 to Susanville where he went to worked for the City of Susanville Fire Department as its first paid member. Donald Kurts worked his way up through the Department to the position of Assistant Fire Chief which he held until his retirement. Donald Kurts was active every year as Santa Claus to everyone's children's delight for many years.
Donald Kurts was a proud US Marine Corp Veteran. Because of his love of life, his sense of humor and his love for his family, he will be missed by many.
The Patriot Guard Riders having been invited by the family of fallen US Marine Corp Veteran, Donald Kurts, to stand and honor during his Interment Service at the Diamond Crest Cemetery, Susanville, CA. 96130.
On a beautiful sunny day, 12 PGR attended to pay honor and respect to USMC Donald Kurts. 4 PGR were from the Reno, NV area, 2 from Westwood and 6 others from the Susanville local area. Local area family and friends were many, and local Fire Departments were in attendance.
Rest in Peace, Donald... Your Mission is complete...
