Final Mission Report;
Sgt James C. Jeskey, US Army WWII Veteran, of Janesville, CA

The Patriot Guard Riders having been invited by the family of fallen US Army WWII Veteran, Sgt James C. Jeskey, to stand and honor during his interment service at the Janesville Cemetery, Janesville, CA. The mission involved a flag line at the Janesville Cemetery in Janesville, CA. for family and friends to pass through. On a windy, snowing winter day, 17 PGR members showed to present Honors for this true American Hero and last of a great generation, where the PGR stood Honor line at his final resting.

Sgt James C. Jeskey served his country proudly from 5 Dec 1944 to 23 Nov 1946. Sgt James C. Jeskey served during World War II with the 31st Infantry Regiment – 7h Division as an infantryman in numerous campaigns in the South Pacific Theater. Sgt James C. Jeskey was decorated with the Philippine Liberation Service Medal – Army Occupation Medal (Japan) – Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal – Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Sgt James C. Jeskey was very involved in the local Susanville community, serving as the Mayor of Susanville. He was a proud US Army veteran who retired in the Susanville area. Because of his love of life, his sense of humor and his love for his family, he will be missed by many.

I would like to especially thank Nevada PGR Assistant State Captain Dave Kealey and his three members, who drove up from Reno, NV to honor this true American Hero. In addition to our Patriot Guard Riders we had a great representation of many groups on this Mission. They include:

U. S. Army Honor Guard
Patriot Guard Riders
American Legion
Marine Corps League

Lastly, but not the least, I am thankful to Sgt James C. Jeskey, US Army WWII Veteran, an American Hero and last of a great generation, and his family. Your watch has been stood, your duty to protect this nation is complete, and you’ve earned the right to be called a true American Hero. Your service and sacrifice will not be forgotten.

Rest in Peace, your Mission is complete.

Respectfully,

American Patriot - Rick "Taildragger" Schultz
