Ssgt Alvin R. Jordan, US Air Force Veteran - Susanville, CA

The Patriot Guard Riders having been invited by the family of fallen US Air Force, Retired Veteran, Ssgt Alvin R. Jordan, to stand and honor during his interment service in Susanville at the Diamond Crest Cemetery, Susanville, CA. The mission involved a flag line at the Diamond Crest Cemetery in Susanville, CA. for family and friends to pass through. On a windy, snowing, winter day, 17 PGR members showed to present Honors for this true American Hero where the PGR stood Honor line at his final resting.

Ssgt Alvin R. Jordan served his country proudly from 20 Feb 1952 to 20 Feb 1972. Ssgt Alvin R. Jordan passed away on 29 Oct 2011. He was a proud US Air Force veteran who after his retiring from the US Air Force, lived in the Redding area, working 16 years at the Whiskeytown National Park. After working at the National Park, Ssgt Alvin R. Jordan traveled in his RV across this great Nation, then settling in the Susanville area where he loved woodworking. Because of his love of life, his sense of humor and his love for his family, he will be missed by many.

I would like to especially thank Nevada PGR Assistant State Captain Dave Kealey and his three members, who drove up from Reno, NV to honor this true American Hero. In addition to our Patriot Guard Riders we had a great representation of many groups on this Mission. They include:

U. S. Army Honor Guard
Patriot Guard Riders
American Legion
Marine Corps League

Lastly, but not the least, I am thankful to Ssgt Alvin R. Jordan, US Air Force Veteran, an American Hero, and his family. Please know your sacrifice was not in vain, and we will not forget what you’ve done for our Nation.

Rest in Peace, your Mission is complete.

Respectfully,

RC - Rick "Taildragger" Schultz
